Eco House in Elliote Drive, Leicester is a contemporary new build residential project designed to combine modern architecture, sustainable thinking, and practical family living. The scheme showcases a clean and distinctive external appearance, pairing natural timber-style cladding with crisp rendered surfaces and expansive glazing to create a striking yet balanced home.
Designed with a strong focus on natural light, openness, and everyday comfort, the property features generous internal volumes, double-height spaces, and carefully planned connections between the interior and surrounding landscape. Design and concept
The design concept for Eco House centred on creating a modern, energy-conscious home with a strong architectural identity and a calm, uncluttered interior language. Externally, the composition of vertical timber-style cladding, smooth light render, and large-format glazing gives the house a confident contemporary character while helping it sit comfortably within its residential setting.
Internally, the design emphasises simplicity, light, and scale. Double-height glazing, open circulation areas, rooflights, and a restrained palette of materials were used to enhance brightness and create a sense of openness throughout the home. The interiors were designed to feel elegant and functional, with clean lines, modern detailing, and carefully considered architectural features such as statement lighting, gallery-style landings, and integrated living spaces.
The overall concept was to deliver a home that feels both modern and timeless, with a design language that supports sustainable living without compromising on comfort or visual quality.
Layout and residential functionality
A key objective of the project was to create a home that performs well for modern family life while making the most of space, light, and circulation.
