Simmer Huang, Canary Wharf, London

Project overview

Simmer Huang is a contemporary Chinese hot pot restaurant in Canary Wharf, London, designed to deliver a warm, social, and immersive dining experience inspired by the tradition of sharing freshly prepared ingredients around richly flavoured simmering broths. This restaurant fit-out project focused on creating a bright and inviting interior that reflects the brand’s family-run identity while supporting the practical needs of modern hospitality service.

The scheme combines soft pastel tones, clean finishes, bespoke seating layouts, and carefully integrated lighting to create a fresh and distinctive environment. Designed to welcome everything from working lunches and casual dinners to date nights and group celebrations, the interior balances visual character with comfort, efficiency, and operational flow.

This project reflects our approach as a restaurant fit-out specialist in London, delivering a design-led hospitality space that supports both authentic dining experiences and strong day-to-day functionality.

Design and concept

The interior concept for Simmer Huang was developed to feel contemporary, approachable, and memorable, while still reflecting the communal spirit of traditional Chinese hot pot dining. A palette of soft pink, muted green, white, and warm natural finishes creates a light and modern atmosphere, giving the restaurant a distinctive identity within the busy Canary Wharf setting.

The design combines clean-lined furniture, bespoke booth seating, statement pendant lighting, and practical table layouts to support both aesthetics and usability. Large glazed elevations maximise natural light and connect the interior to the surrounding urban environment, while branded features and subtle decorative elements help strengthen the restaurant’s visual identity.

The overall concept was to create a hospitality interior that feels welcoming and social, with a balance of freshness, comfort, and contemporary appeal suited to a wide range of diners.

Layout and residential functionality

The layout was carefully planned to support efficient restaurant operation while maintaining a comfortable and engaging dining experience. Seating arrangements were designed to accommodate both smaller tables and group dining, reflecting the shared nature of Chinese hot pot and the need for flexibility across different customer occasions.

Integrated table layouts, circulation routes, and service zones help ensure that the restaurant functions smoothly during busy periods, while the bar and front-of-house areas create a clear and attractive arrival point. Window-side seating and open views enhance the sense of space and allow the restaurant to feel bright and welcoming throughout the day.

The overall interior supports a practical hospitality environment that is easy to navigate, efficient to operate, and enjoyable for guests, whether visiting for a quick lunch or a longer shared meal.

Delivery and fit-out

This project was delivered with a strong emphasis on hospitality functionality, finish quality, and cohesive brand presentation. Close coordination between design and fit-out teams ensured that the final space aligned with the restaurant’s operational requirements while maintaining a strong and recognisable interior identity.

The scope included restaurant interior fit-out works, front-of-house detailing, bespoke seating, lighting installation, surface finishes, and coordinated branding features throughout the space. Materials and layouts were selected to support long-term durability, ease of maintenance, and an attractive dining environment suited to a busy London restaurant setting.

Simmer Huang demonstrates our capability as a London fit out contractor to deliver restaurant interiors that combine design character, operational performance, and a welcoming customer experience.
