Yakiniku like!! Westfield Stratford City, London
Project overview
We successfully delivered a full restaurant fit-out for Yakiniku Like at Westfield Stratford City, one of London’s busiest retail and leisure destinations. The project involved the delivery of a brand-led Japanese BBQ restaurant that reflects Yakiniku Like’s distinctive identity while providing a highly efficient and customer-focused dining environment.
Working within a high-footfall shopping centre, our team coordinated design development, construction, and interior fit out works to meet programme, quality, and operational requirements, while ensuring full compliance with landlord and local authority standards.
Design and concept
The interior design was developed to translate Yakiniku Like’s global brand into a clear and recognisable physical space. A restrained material palette, integrated lighting, and consistent brand graphics were combined to create a contemporary dining environment aligned with the brand’s Japanese BBQ concept.
The design balances strong visual identity with operational clarity, ensuring the space supports both customer experience and efficient restaurant operations.
Layout and restaurant functionality
The internal layout was carefully planned to optimise seating capacity, customer flow, and staff efficiency. Table layouts, circulation routes, and service zones were configured to support high turnover during peak trading periods while maintaining comfort and accessibility.
Mechanical, electrical, and ventilation systems were fully integrated into the design to support individual table grilling, ensuring performance, safety, and long-term durability. Finishes and detailing were selected to withstand intensive daily use while maintaining a consistent brand appearance.
Delivery and construction
Our team managed the project from early coordination through to completion, delivering construction, interior fit out, and specialist restaurant works within a live retail environment. Careful attention was given to sequencing, quality control, and health and safety to ensure smooth delivery within a busy shopping centre.
