Hadilao Hot Pot, Birmingham
Project overview
We delivered a full design and build restaurant fit-out for Haidilao Hot Pot at the Bullring Shopping Centre in Birmingham, one of the UK’s most prominent retail and leisure destinations. The project focused on creating a premium dining environment that reflects Haidilao’s globally recognised brand while supporting high customer volumes and an elevated service experience.
Located within a busy shopping centre, the project required close coordination to ensure all design, construction, and fit-out works were delivered in line with programme, quality, and operational requirements, as well as landlord and regulatory standards.
Design and concept
The interior design was developed to express Haidilao’s refined brand identity through a contemporary interpretation of Chinese dining culture. A palette of natural stone finishes, warm timber tones, metallic detailing, and integrated lighting was used to create a sophisticated and welcoming atmosphere.
Curved architectural elements, bespoke joinery, and feature lighting were carefully incorporated to enhance spatial flow and visual interest, while maintaining a calm and comfortable dining environment aligned with the brand’s premium positioning.
Layout and restaurant functionality
The internal layout was carefully planned to optimise customer circulation, seating efficiency, and staff workflow across a large-scale dining space. Seating zones, private areas, and circulation routes were arranged to support smooth movement and minimise congestion during peak trading periods.
Mechanical, electrical, and ventilation systems were fully integrated to support hot pot dining requirements, with careful consideration given to safety, performance, and long-term durability. Finishes and materials were selected to withstand intensive daily use while maintaining a consistent and high-quality brand appearance.
Delivery and construction
Our team managed the project from early coordination through to completion, delivering construction, interior fit-out, and specialist restaurant works within a live shopping centre environment. Detailed attention was given to sequencing, quality control, and health and safety to ensure smooth delivery with minimal disruption.
